Having experienced both local and international education, Vanisha reveled in the city's multiculturalism, relishing the chance to learn something new every day. Even while studying law, she seized opportunities to pursue her passion for fashion.
"Coming from an Indian descent and watching Bollywood movies since I was a little girl, I loved everything from clothes, shoes, handbags, accessories, you name it. Developing a passion for fashion from an early age and with Hong Kong’s vibrant arts and culture scene, I found myself involved with the local creative scene when I turned 16. A lot of international schools started organizing and hosting charity fashion shows, which showcased the works of student designers and allowed me to participate by modeling those designs and meeting people from the industry. "
“One of the biggest strengths has to be the fusion between cultures in Hong Kong, which allows each individual to express and create through their diverse experiences. Adding on, various artistic experiences and exhibitions are leading to collaborations, especially due to global connectivity and the entrepreneurial spirit that is embodied by the younger generation of Hong Kong.”
"My biggest source of motivation is to keep myself active and excited. I need to work a couple of times a week to be disciplined and have events or gatherings to look forward to, permitting a balance between my personal and professional life and keeping myself feeling motivated.”
Her mother serves as her greatest inspiration. After earning a Bachelor of Arts in language studies in India, she relocated to Hong Kong after marrying her father. Demonstrating remarkable versatility, she engaged in various endeavors, from assisting her grandfather with a mail-order business to mastering accounting practices to support her husband's business, all while managing household responsibilities.
"Having had various experiences herself, she allowed me to explore different fields of work to understand what I enjoyed doing. Knowing she could do it all, we try to follow her footsteps and always have her as our biggest cheerleader to motivate us to keep at it."
